What's the least I need to know about Chess Club?

ALL OLL-SPECIFIC CHESS ACTIVITIES ARE ON HOLD UNTIL A VOLUNTEER CHESS COACH CAN BE FOUND.

JUST TO THE RIGHT IS A CALENDAR OF OTHER, CURRENT CHESS OPPORTUNITIES IN INDIANAPOLIS. It is still being kept relatively up to date (as of 2/13/11).

During the school year, we were playing chess every Monday in the OLL cafe (for any students in Kindergarten through eighth grade). At the moment, the school year chess club is on hold.

Drop off was anytime after school (between 3:05 and 4:00). Pickup is at 5pm for 6th-8th Graders, and 4pm for younger kids.

We served a very light snack (juice and crackers).

The first meeting was free, then it was $35 for the semester (includes T-Shirt). Scholarships were available.

No prior knowledge was needed or expected. We had kindergartners all the way up through 8th grade. About 15-20 came each week.

Katy Guyrek helped me out every week, and any other parents were encouraged to stay and help out as well.
