Winter Break Chess Camp

Aaron Dean is a Chess Coach (Sycamore? St. Richard's? Orchard School?) . He is a former high school state chess champion. His teams have won several state championships and high national titles.

There will be a winter session Chess Camp at St. Richard's on Jan. 3, 4, and 5. It is from 9 to 3:00 with aftercare available. The cost is $85.00 for the three days (I assume aftercare has an additional cost).

I have seen him speak to the chess club, but not to kids but I've heard he does things like teach chess while playing Twister. There will also be breaks. He told me he'll be teaching short sessions, followed by playing chess each time.

If Croix attends, I'll probably stay all day with him, but we haven't decided if he's going yet.

Winter Break Chess Camp!!!

Do you want your kids to be mentally active and still have fun during winter/Christmas break? This camp will include beginner to advanced teachings about chess, other related variations on the game, and some outdoor play. It’s a fantastic chess opportunity for all levels of play and taught in a style that kids will enjoy.

Instructors: Aaron Dean and Colin Hargraves from Learning Through Games

When: Jan 3^rd, 4^th, & 5^th, 2007

Time: 9am – 3pm each day (before- and aftercare available)

Where: St. Richard's School, 33 E. 33^rd St., Indpls, IN 46205

Ages: K – 3^rd grade, 4^th – 8^th grade (2 groups)

Cost: $85.00 (before- and aftercare charged at $10 per day, regardless of usage time)

Your child must bring a sack lunch every day. If you are not a St. Richard’s family, you must also complete and send the Student Information Form, available on the website at www.strichardsschool.org. Go to Student Life, then Aftercare.
